Even if Heath Ledger was still alive, his ass should still be up for an Oscar. He fucking KILLED IT as the Joker. I was sitting there watching it like he wasn't some actor portraying a character. He sucked you in and really made you believe that he was the Joker. Also.... I am soooo happy that they made the Joker the psychotic asshole he should have been. I know you can't really compare the two, but.... Heath's Joker was 100x better than Nicholson's. For serious. I haven't walked out of a movie feeling satisfied in FOREVER. The only thing I had a problem with (spoiler alert) was the direction they took Harvey Dent/Two Face. I was hoping that he would be the villain in the next one. Eckhart did a PHENOMENAL job as Two Face.... and, I LOVED how gruesome they made his face. In the previous movie.... with Tommy Lee Jones... it looked too cartoony. But, with the new fx, I'm usually cool with blood and gore, but when I saw his face, it gave me chills. Another thing I loved about this movie was Maggie Gyllenhal cast as Rachel. KUDOS to whoever cast her... she was amazing. Way better than whats her face.... Tom Cruise's hostage..... Katie Holmes, that's it. One last thing... I have never almost cried over a comic book movie... but the scene when (spoiler alert) Gordon was killed and they had to tell his widow..... Damn....it hit me hard... Anywho... I soooooo recommend this movie. It will go down as a classic.
